THIS FUCKING TEAM!!!! The Boston Bruins Rally And Defeat The Hartford Whalers 4-3 In OT

The Boston Bruins rallied from a two goal deficit to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in OT.

Point streak: 17 games.

The Bruins lost their MoJo after a hit from Micheal Ferland sent Marcus Johansson down the tunnel with a solid hit. Johansson would not return to the game, he went to the hospital for more evaluations.

David Backes and Micheal Ferland dropped the gloves with Ferland getting the better of David, Ferland would not return to the game. Things started to get real chippy in the first frame of the game.

Sebastian Aho gave the Hurricanes the early lead, puck bounced right off his skate and past Halak. 1-0 Carolina.

1:10 into the second, Aho’s 2nd of the game extended Carolina’s lead to 2. Not a great start!

Chris Wagner’s 10th of the season got the Bruins on the board and back in the game. Nice play from Brandon Carlo. 2-1 Hurricanes.

David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk converted on the 2-on-1 to tie things up, DeBrusk’s 22nd of the season makes things 2-2 in the 2nd.

With Cehlarik in the box serving the too many men penalty (for the 2nd time) Brad Marchand sprung free and fed Patrice Bergeron for the shorthanded goal. Bruins lead 3-2.

Justin Williams’ rocket from the point once again tied things up and we were headed to OT.

OT:

Jake DeBrusk to David Krejci. Game, blouses.

FINAL: Boston 4, Hartford 3 (OT)

News, notes and quotes:

  • Chris Wagner got the Bruins back in it with his 10th goal of the season (career high).
  • I think I write about Jake DeBrusk in every single blog. His 22nd of the season tied things up 2-2 tonight, thanks to a sick set up from David Krejci. He returned the favor with the effort and the pass to Krech for the OT winner. What a fucking play.
  • Speaking of David Krejci,
  • Brandon Carlo had NINE SOG. NINE. Led all defenseman in TOI too with 26:19. He was physically involved tonight too. Love to see it.
  • Charlie Coyle still scoreless in his 5 games with Boston but you have to think the dam is gonna break pretty soon for him.
  • Jacob Slavin is the real deal. He was terrific for Carolina tonight.
  • Two too many too many men penalties tonight. How the fuck does that happen? Thankfully Carolina could not convert on their 5 PPs. Just a disastrous start to the game, not discipline enough.
  • Patrice Bergeron has now moved into sole possession of 6th place in the B’s all-time scoring list with 794 points thanks to his shorty tonight.
  • 8 game home win steak, 17 game point streak. Let’s keep it going.
  • The Bruins are 9-0-1 without David Pastrnak. Who held a stick on the ice this morning.
  • Jaro Halak made 34 saves and is now is now 5-0-0 in his last 5 games.

B’s are back in action Thursday night when Frank Vatrano and the Florida Panthers come to town.

It was a great night to win a hockey game.

I love this fucking team.
